Blogmeister returns, but not with a bang.

So the long hiatus finally comes to an end. Doesn't it seem like an eternity since i wrote my last blog-post? I know you've all been looking forward for me to post, but well, i'm a busy busy man you see. :P But i'm kind enough not to let my blogbuddies wait for too long, cos thats just not faaiirrr i saayy!

Okay, well, cutting the crap, i must tell you that finding time to write my blog has been, quite strangely, the toughest task of this past month. Blogging is an addiction of sorts, but when you don't have the time, you just don't have it! That sucks, cos i love to write. And when you don't find time to do things that you like, it really gets to you. So i have finally decided to squeeze out time from my hectic life, just for you beautiful people out there who yearn to read my blog with their daily cuppa. :D You're welcome, in advance! ;)

Well, most of my time goes in attending college, and by the time I come home, i'm tired, which is weird, cos all we do in D.J. Sanghvi is sit in air-conditioned rooms with state-of-the-art facilities, and stare blankly at the professor while he teaches
vague concepts from the deepest nook and corner of some weird, fat, insanely huge reference book, which seems all Greek and Latin to me. And Hebrew. Maybe with a touch of Pashto. And a sprinkling of Sudanese. With an essence of Hakka(not the noodles, mind). Atleast thats the case with me. But it is really unbelievable to have college start at sharp 9:30 am, and end at sharp 4:30 pm on the very first day of your new semester. Since then, till date, almost EVERY lecture and practical has been held. And these happen to be the first few days of a new semester. Excruciatingly disgusting i tell you!! If that isn't enough, we have to write journals as well. 17 pages for an experiment in one of the subjects. SEVENTEEN. Whooaaa with an excess of o's and a's i tell you!! If this is our state right now, i can't really bring myself to imagine what will happen during "submission-week". Maybe i'll have to hire a personal assistant to help me complete the journals and assignments. Anyone willing to work for free can contact me. Thank you.

Semester Five looks pretty hectic if you ask me. Technically, we have 7 subjects, but
two of them don't have written papers, which is good. But the subjects do scare me. Whilst i like Computer Networks and Java, subjects like TCS and Microprocessors are a tough proposition as far as i'm concerned. And doubling that up with the fact that i havn't taken any tuitions, it makes the situation all the more arduous. Oh well, being in the fifth semester means you're half an engineer already. Which further implies that you must start to do things on your own. You can't possibly take tuitions all your life can you?

Amidst all the huffing and puffing that our college life has recently presented us with, I, for one, am happy to be busy. In typical Bambaiyya lingo, it is better than being "lukkha". More often that not, being busy is a strict no-go for most of us, especially when being busy means you scratch every inch of those blessed A4-sized assignment sheets with your evergreen Cello-Grippers and Lexis. But these days, being busy means a lot more. Enter the Graduate Record Examination(GRE). The preparations for the GRE have begun, since i give my exam in March of next year. Flash cards claim an important stake in this examination, and not without reason as well. There are approximately 3,800 words to learn, and it is no easy task. So they have to be given a lot of time, and you have to have a lot of patience. I've lost mine already. And i'm just half-way through my first box of 125 words. Thats just 60 odd words. Still about 3740 words to learn!! Jesus Christ on a malfunctioning spaceship i say!!!!

Besides acads and the usual college life, i have kept myself busy with reading novels as well. I've always been an avid reader since i was a kid. At first, it was Enid Blyton, Carolyn Keene and Roald Dahl. Then came Agatha Christie, J.K. Rowling and Jeffrey Archer. Then it was Chetan Bhagat and Michael Crichton. Nowadays, it is Vince Flynn, the undisputed messiah when it comes to hardcore terrorism, counter-terrorism, modern politics, espionage, treason, assassinations and deceit. His series, revolving around the expertise, guile and ruthless bravery of a one-man army called Mitch Rapp, is probably one of the best i have ever read. Rapp is U.S.A's top counter-terrorism operative, whose exploits involve diffusing nuclear devices in the middle of the Potomac, running through the streets of Iraq after a mad terrorist whilst being continuously pepper-sprayed with scores of RPGs and incessant rounds of rocket launchers, executing the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and even the Vice-President elect of the U.S.A. for their involvement in a series of atrocities and wrong-doings, and much much more. Guided by supremely talented characters like the CIA director Irene Kennedy, SEAL Team Six operative Scott Coleman and CIA's resident computer genius Marcus Dumond, Rapp travels the darkest corners of the globe with only one objective in mind : to eradicate terrorism from the face of the planet. He has created a niche for himself, and is feared by everyone, right from the deadliest terrorist in the world, to those scheming political bigwigs who reside in the comfort of the United States Capitol. In short, this series takes your breath away in every aspect. A must read. Okay, I sound like Flynn's official publicist, but there you go.

Well, there's not much else to write about at the moment. In fact, actually, there is. But there's an absolute mash of everything in my brain. I have a lot to write on, but its all jumbled up, so i need to sort things out before i can go on one heck of a writing spree. At the moment though, we'll leave it here. This post hasn't been what i was planning to write. Its been short, and on nothing exciting as such. Not blogging for a month has this effect on you, because everyday you come across many incidents on which you'd like to write. You make a mental note, but you never actually end up writing on it. Due to this, there's an unnecessary accumulation of thoughts and views in your brain, and hence, you can't really decide what to write on when you actually sit to do it. That is what I am experiencing currently, and I apologize for it.

Sorry folks, but thats going to be that for the moment. But worry not, cos normal service will most definitely be resumed shortly. You can bet your house on that one.

Until next time, Au Revoir folks!

Nice post. I loved the line "Jesus Christ on a malfunctionaing spaceship". Inovative. About the words, try reading "Word Power Made Easy"by Norman Lewis. It's good. It helped me a lot! I totally agree with you when you said there's so much you want to write but it just doesn't come through... Nice... keep on blogging!
